About SIC: Our Vision & Values
Why do we meet?
First and foremost, we meet to honour and glorify our Lord and Saviour Jesus. On Sundays, we come together to celebrate God together in music, in exploring the Bible and in prayer. Our children meet to learn about God in children’s church. We also meet during the week to encourage and build one-another up.
Who are we?
Starnberg Fellowship is a growing English-speaking Christian community in the Starnberg area. We have been meeting together since early 2007.
What do we believe?
We desire to be a Christ-centred church, glorifying him and encouraging each other to live out our faith in a real, concrete way according to the Bible. See our Values Statement below.
What can I expect?
A welcoming community of believers from different walks of life, and various stages in our faith journey! We’re like you. We know what it feels like to be away from home—your family, relatives, and friends. You have questions and needs—we’re here to help to the best of our ability. As a growing church family, there is a place for you to give of your talents.
What should I wear to church?
Our church is casual and contemporary. People choose to wear what they feel most comfortable in—casual, chic, or semi-formal. It’s your choice.

What are our Values?
Below is our Value Statement:
1. Christ-Centered Church
Heaven and eternal life can only be achieved through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. Prayer as a Priority
We acknowledge that God has called us to be a people of prayer. We are committed to praying, rather than merely talking about it.
3. Relationally Evangelistic
We are focused on reaching out to un-churched, disinterested people. All sinners are welcome and grace and mercy freely given. We are a people of compassion.
4. Service Oriented
We are committed to serving each other and the community we aim to reach. We are not complacent and lethargic. Rather, we are radical and we are involved with each other and our local community.
5. People Are a Priority
Whether single or married, we value each person “For the body does not consist of one member but of many” 1 Cor. 12:14. Marriage and parenting are also great priorities. We will care for the children of our church (Heb 13:4, Matt 19:6, Pro 15:5).
6. Equipping the Saints
We are committed to training and developing the people of our church. We equip them to study the Holy Scriptures. We train them in the practical principles of following Christ.
7. Excellence in All Things
We seek excellence in all that we do. We are patient in our journey, but we are not satisfied with anything short of excellence.
8. Creative in Our Approach
We are creative in all we do. We have a loose grip on our methodology and we seek the best ideas and the best approach to ministry.
9. Diverse in Our Outreach
Though we are an English speaking church, we reach out to all nationalities around us. We are a church committed to pursuing the local community that surrounds us.
10. Inspired Word of God
We subscribe to the inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures. The scriptures are both inspired by God and infallible.
11. Authentic in Nature
We are transparent and real. Our actions speak louder than our words.
12. Disciples of Christ
We are committed disciples of Jesus Christ and we are not ashamed of the Gospel (2 Tim 1:8, Rom 1:16, 1 Pet 4:16).
13. Accountable to Others
As a church body, we seek accountability as individuals with one another. We also seek the accountability of a trusted outside resource such as sister church or church planting organization.
14. Biblically Based
The Bible is our sole authority: Sola Scriptura. It is the inspired Word of God and is without error.
